StayLevy is an informational tool. The taxes, licenses, rates, and deadlines we surface are drawn from public sources and provided for general guidance only. They may be incomplete, out of date, or inapplicable to your situation. Nothing here constitutes tax, legal, or accounting advice, and no professional relationship is created by using the service. Always confirm with the relevant jurisdiction or a qualified professional before you register, file, or rely on any figure.
1. Agreement and who we are
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Stayta LLC, a California limited liability company (“Stayta,” “we,” or “us”), which operates StayLevy (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors and account holders. If you use the Service for a business, you agree to these terms on its behalf and confirm you have authority to do so.
2. What StayLevy does
StayLevy helps short-term rental hosts find published tax and licensing guidance for a property. Account features help you save properties, record filing dates and documents, and choose reminders and rule-change alerts. Coverage and available information vary by location. We aggregate and cite public information; we do not file, remit, or pay anything on your behalf, and we are not your agent before any taxing authority.
3. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account.
- Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and sign-in access private. You are responsible for activity under your account, including activity by team members you invite.
- Tell us promptly at hello@staylevy.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
4. Your responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for your own tax and licensing compliance.
- You must verify any figure against its official source before acting on it.
- You will not misuse, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the Service, bypass usage limits, or access another person’s account or records.
- You will only upload content you have the right to share, and nothing unlawful or harmful, such as malware.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the properties, filing records, notes, and documents you add to StayLevy (“your content”). You give Stayta a limited license to store, copy, process, and display your content only as needed to provide the Service to you and the team members you share it with, to keep it secure, and to meet legal obligations. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not publish it. You can download or delete your records from Settings; deleting your account removes them as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Plans & billing
Free accounts include ten address lookups per calendar month. Paid Starter and Pro plans include unlimited lookups and are billed by monitored location allowance, monthly or annually, with unlimited properties in selected locations. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Paddle is the merchant of record and collects payment details, issues invoices, and handles applicable sales taxes on the subscription. Any offered trial requires a payment method; cancel before it ends to avoid a charge. You can cancel from Plan & billing; access continues through the confirmed billing period. Refund eligibility is described in the Refund policy below.
7. Refund policy
First payment: We offer a full refund of your first subscription payment if you request it within 14 calendar days of that payment. This guarantee applies to both monthly and annual plans, including the first payment after a free trial.
Renewals: Refund requests made within 14 calendar days of a renewal payment are reviewed case by case. We consider accidental renewals and whether you have used the paid service since renewal. A renewal refund is not guaranteed.
Other cancellations and plan changes: Outside the first-payment guarantee, we do not routinely provide prorated refunds for unused time, downgrades, or stopping use of the Service. This does not limit refunds for billing errors, material product failures, or rights described below.
Billing errors and product failures: Contact us if you believe a charge is duplicated or incorrect, or if a material failure prevents us from delivering an advertised paid feature. We will investigate and correct confirmed billing errors. If we cannot resolve a material product failure, we will provide an appropriate refund. The 14-day request windows above do not limit these remedies or any rights required by law.
Cancellation and access: Cancelling your subscription prevents future renewals. Access continues through your confirmed paid billing period unless that period is refunded. A full refund of the current paid period ends paid access for that period. Requesting or receiving a refund does not by itself cancel future renewals; cancel through Plan & billing or ask us to help cancel your subscription.
How to request a refund: Email hello@staylevy.com with your account email and transaction reference. You can also contact Paddle using the support link in your payment receipt. Paddle is the merchant of record and processes approved refunds to the original payment method where possible. The time for funds to appear depends on your payment provider.
Paddle and your legal rights: Purchases are also subject to Paddle's buyer terms and refund policy. Paddle may exercise its own discretion to issue refunds under those terms. Nothing in this policy limits any applicable statutory withdrawal rights, consumer rights, or remedies for faulty or misdescribed products. Any additional rights provided by Paddle or required by applicable law remain available.
8. Our content
The Service, including its software, design, and the jurisdiction guides and datasets we compile, belongs to Stayta and its licensors. Official sources we cite belong to their publishers. You may use the guides for your own compliance and share links to them. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute our datasets or guides in bulk, or use them to build a competing service, without our written permission. If you send us feedback or a correction, we may use it without any obligation to you.
9. Suspension & termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings; a paid plan must be cancelled first. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if your use puts the Service or other users at risk, or if the law requires it. Where practical, we will tell you first and give you a chance to download your records. If we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice and refund any prepaid fees for the period after it ends. Sections 5, 7, and 8 and Sections 10 through 13 continue to apply after your access ends.
10. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the information is current or error-free, or that reminders will be delivered on time.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stayta is not liable for any penalties, interest, fines, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify Stayta against third-party claims, and related reasonable costs, that arise from your content, your breach of these terms, or your violation of law or of someone else’s rights.
13. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please email hello@staylevy.com so we can try to resolve it informally. Any claim that is not resolved will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and Stayta consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring an eligible claim in small claims court. Nothing here limits consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law where you live.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date, and we will email account holders about material changes before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
