1. Information we collect
- Addresses you look up: to resolve the jurisdictions and obligations for a property.
- Account details: your name, email, and the sign-in information needed for your account. Subscription records include your plan, billing status, selected locations, and billing period. Paddle collects payment details; StayLevy does not store your full card number.
- Contact inquiries: your name, email, message, and any company, rental, or portfolio details you choose to include, so we can respond.
- Lookup usage: monthly lookup counts associated with your account or a pseudonymous identifier derived from your network address. A browser cookie may provide that identifier when needed. We use these counts to apply the free lookup allowance.
- Abuse limits: short-lived counts of sign-in attempts, password reset requests, and contact, newsletter, and waitlist submissions, keyed to your network address or a pseudonymous identifier derived from it, so we can stop automated abuse.
- Property & compliance data: the properties, filings, and documents you add, so we can track deadlines for you.
- Preferences & sessions: notification choices and session information used to keep you signed in.
2. How we use it
We use rental addresses to find available jurisdiction guidance, account information to manage sign-in, and saved property and filing records to track deadlines. We use your email to send account messages and the reminders or rule-change alerts you choose. Newsletter signups are separate from account signups. We retain contact inquiries to respond to requests and monthly lookup counts to enforce free usage limits.
3. Sharing your information
We share information with service providers only as needed to run StayLevy:
- Cloudflare hosts the app, stores account, property and filing records and the documents you upload, and delivers account emails, filing reminders and rule-change alerts.
- U.S. Census Bureau geocoding receives the addresses you look up so we can match them to a city or county.
- Apple provides address suggestions when Apple Maps search is enabled. Apple receives what you type into the address field.
- Google handles sign-in if you choose “Sign in with Google” and shares your name and email address with us. Google sign-in is optional.
- Resend stores the email addresses of newsletter subscribers and sends the newsletter.
- Paddle processes subscription payments as merchant of record. Payment details are collected by Paddle; StayLevy stores subscription identifiers, status, selected locations, and billing-period information to manage paid access.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share your property records with booking platforms, and we do not file your taxes with a taxing authority. We do not use your private property data to train models without your consent. We may disclose information when the law requires it.
4. Email & record retention
Account messages, such as verification and password reset emails, are needed to sign in and recover your account, so they are sent while you have an account. You can turn filing reminders and rule-change alerts on or off in Settings, and reminder and alert emails include a one-click unsubscribe link. The newsletter is separate from your account: each newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, or email hello@staylevy.com and we will remove you.
How long we keep records: account, property, filing and document records stay until you delete them or your account. Monthly lookup counts for an account are deleted with the account. Lookup counts for visitors without an account are keyed to a pseudonymous identifier, not a name or email. Abuse-limit counts are deleted after about a day. Newsletter subscriber records, contact inquiries and coverage requests are kept until you ask us to remove them, so we can honor an unsubscribe and follow up on a request.
5. Data retention & your rights
We retain account, property, filing, and document records to provide the service. Email privacy@staylevy.com to request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information. Your rights depend on applicable law; some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations. In Settings you can also change your name and email, download your properties, saved dates, filings, and document list as CSV files, and delete your account. Deleting your account removes your properties, saved dates, filings, documents and their stored files, and teams you own. A paid plan must end before the account can be deleted; Paddle keeps its own payment records as merchant of record. Deleting your account does not remove a newsletter subscription, which is separate (use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter), or messages you sent through the contact form and coverage requests for areas we don't cover yet; email privacy@staylevy.com to have those removed.
6. Security
Account pages require sign-in. Access to property records and uploaded documents is checked against your account permissions. Keep your password and sign-in access private. In Settings you can change your password and sign out of every other device. Changing or resetting your password also signs out your other devices.
